It pains me that I have to give this salon one star, because it really deserves no stars.
I went to this salon for the first time today, saw Marcy and asked for 2 inches off of my hair in a blunt, even cut all the way around. Instead, I got 6 inches off one side, 7 inches off the other, and 5 off in the back. She started cutting my hair in the back, so I couldn't see what was happening, and it wasn't until she started cutting the front that I realized how many inches come off. I was so upset and just wanted to get out of there, and it wasn't until I got home that I realized not only had she taken off so much length, but it was multiple inches shorter on the left side and multiple inches longer in the back.
I went back, where I spoke to Linda, the manager, and some woman whose name was given to me, but whose connection with the salon was never explained. I showed them the cut, and they both winced and agreed that it was truly awful. But instead of apologizing or calling over the stylist who had cut my hair, they proceeded to act out the most bizarre and truly awful display of customer service I've ever seen. It stared out normally: They told me I could have my hair fixed by "someone good", but I explained that this was my first time in the salon and that the results of the haircut gave me no confidence in their establishment and that I didn't want to chance it getting any worse. I just wanted my money back and I wanted to go home and have someone else fix it, someone who I could trust. Linda and the mystery woman then began raising their voices at me, saying "How dare you judge our establishment based on one person, who is clearly having an off day?" "We don't do refunds and we certainly can't give you one." "We think you're being ridiculous and unfair by not letting us send you to another stylist." "Your behavior is unbelievable." Let me tell you, it is never fun to be yelled at, but it's especially awful when you just drove back to a salon where you received a hack job of a hair cut and spent an hour crying in your car.
Finally, Linda threw up her hands and said, "Fine! Just give this girl her refund." But even after agreeing, the mystery woman flanked my side and kept repeating how "unfair" I was being and how she couldn't believe that I was asking for a refund and wasn't letting someone else cut my hair. I am a very mild mannered person, and it takes a lot to set me off, but I ended up cursing at these woman on the way out because I had never been treated so horribly, and all I had done was ask them to fix a mistake they made.
THE GOOD NEWS: I went to Mario Tricoci in Hawthorn Mall and got my hair fixed by professionals. The lovely stylist, Lola, kept repeating, "How did they do this to you?" "What did they do to your hair?" and "Do they have any trained stylists at this place you went?" She didn't charge me for the cut, and THAT is customer service.
